Using Alternate Analyte Names

EQuIS accommodates storing alternate analyte names while maintaining the single core reference values in the EQuIS Database. For certain standard reports (Analytical Results [v54.analytical_results], Analytical Results II, and reports that depend on either of these two base reports) and certain custom reports, this enables output of different naming conventions for the same analytes, depending on report parameter selection.

There are several options for renaming or remapping analytes in EQuIS Professional, some of which require a method analyte group (MAG) for reporting.W

1.To apply alternate analyte names in reports based on a RT_ANALYTE_VAR.VAR_SYSTEM, which may include CAS_RN variations and be referenced in multiple analyte groups:

a.Define the VAR_SYSTEM

ii.Populate RT_ANALYTE_VAR.CAS_RN_VAR to designate synonyms for RT_ANALYTE.CAS_RN.

b.As appropriate for each method analyte group, enter the VAR_SYSTEM value in RT_MTH_ANL_GROUP.VAR_SYSTEM.

c.Select the MAG associated with the VAR_SYSTEM in the report parameters.

2.To apply alternate analyte names directly in method analyte groups:

a.Use RT_MTH_ANL_GROUP_MEMBER.CHEMICAL_NAME to designate synonyms for RT_ANALYTE.CHEMICAL_NAME (linked by the CAS_RN).

b.Select the desired MAG in report parameters.

3.To create a bilingual table in which analyte names of a second language are included along with original analyte names in method analyte groups:

a.Use the RT_MTH_ANL_GROUP_MEMBER.REMARK field for the chemical name in the second language.

b.Add the RT_MTH_ANL_GROUP_MEMBER.REMARK field as an Additional Fields parameter to reports as needed.

4.To remap your data using the RT_REMAP tables, refer to the help document Remap - Set(s) - Creating a Set. Note that the Remap functionality can be quite slow on large datasets. Here are some tips to speed up that functionality.

5.To rename report headers to include multiple languages:

a.Change the Column Header within a Crosstab configuration using the Caption configuration.

b.Use a Crosstab template.

c.Use the Report Designer to create an RDL Report with custom Column Headers.

EQuIS reports use the following order logic to populate analyte names from the three source options:
