License Database Linking

To configure sharing network license(s) between multiple databases, follow the steps below.

1.Choose a database to hold the network licenses, This can be an empty EQuIS Database, an existing EQuIS Database, or you can create an external license database as described in License Database.

2.Verify that the database you wish to add linking to has already been updated (see Update EQuIS Database).

3.Log in to the database where you will add linking in EQuIS Professional and double-click on any facility.

4.Open the ST_LICENSE table:

a.Click on Tables in the Open group on the Home tab of the ribbon.

b.Switch to System Tables In the left pane of the Open window.

c.Select the ST_LICENSE table and click Open. If the database does not have a ST_LICENSE table, update the database per Step 2.

5.Add a new record to ST_LICENSE as explained below.

a.Click the Add... ST_LICENSE button at the bottom of the EQuIS Professional window.

b.Add the information below In the new record.

i.APP_ID = 1023

ii.KEY_TYPE = 4

iii.LICENSE_SERVER = database connection string (see License Features). The License Database page describes the required table permissions.

6.Repeat the previous steps as needed for additional databases. EQuIS Professional does not limit the number of additional databases that can be linked.

7.Once logged in, ST_LICENSE.LICENSE_SERVER will become an encrypted key string.

Note: Depending on network security, the connection string may need further modification, e.g. a VPN may require that the Fully Qualified Domain Name (FQDN) be used, instead of the server name in the connection string.
